Lately I’ve been thinking about finding a good, old-fashioned watch. I’d love an ancient, worn-in watch with a nice leather strap on it so that I wouldn’t always have an excuse to have my cell phone on me. Sometimes it’s nice to NOT be connected! I was looking around the internet, and I found several sites with beautiful, albeit thousand-dollar watches, so I decided to check eBay. I especially like this one:

But it’s getting up there in price! Next time I go thrifting I’m going to try and keep my eyes open for interesting watches.

So know how I have been bitching and bitching about the cold? Well the warm FINALLY came, on the day that I decided to wear my wool dress and tights! Should have planned ahead a little better, but I’m still quite thankful for the arrival of summer. Now I just really have to find some high-waisted shorts…

Well, today could have been better, but it wasn’t all bad. My boyfriend took these! The instructions for the second were “DANCE!”

I’m kinda down. Me and my boyfriend went to an info night for an amazing program that pays you to create animations and do art. It’s hosted by the local Quickdraw Animation Society. I know, almost too good to be true, right? Well, it’s sponsored by the Youth Employment Initiative, so they can actually pay a select number of youths to gain work experience. I really, really, really wanted to do it, but one of the requirements is not being in school. My boyfriend is doing correspondence schooling, so he qualifies, but I don’t. This also means that he’s going to be working full time during the summer! To be frank, it just kinda sucks. I’m pretty jealous of him, but I’m also really happy because I know he’s going to create amazing things and he really deserves the opportunity. He’s already got ideas! Maybe in a couple years when I’m out of school I can do the program, and in the meantime I can get a membership to QAS and work on my own projects. That’s not so bad!

I found an adorable vintage dress on eBay for the wedding, and I won it! Downside? I owe my mom $70 I don’t yet have. (oops.) Upside….

It’s beautiful! It’s going to be a bit shorter on me as well, I think, because of my height. None of my stuff from eBay has arrived yet, but when it does I’m going to be in heaven when it comes to dressing for warm weather.

Finally leaving the house! Yay! And I finally found some opaque black tights, once I realized that my mom had a drawer FULL of them (she’s tall too). I’d been trying to find some that fit me for so long! Well, at least I FINALLY realized that my mom had some because now I can wear them. :P

Gotta check this out next time I go to Superstore…so much cute stuff! And cheap enough that I can (hopefully) convince my mom to get it for me, heh heh.

Unfortunately, the Joe Fresh site uses flash for the bigger images, so when importing to Polyvore I had to use the tiny ones. That sucks because you can’t see the awesome eyelet and knit detail on the white top and dress! So check the links, because that’s what sold me on those two. I’d definitely pair the white eyelet top with the navy shorts, or with some highwaisted denim shorts that I am yet to find. The yellow dress is gorgeous too, because in my mind yellow = as summery as a colour can possibly get. And don’t you love the shoes?! The pink pumps are fabulous obviously because of the colour, and I love the simplicity and ankle straps of the flats. Finally, to top it all off, the perfect little basket bag that I’ve been craving. I love Joe Fresh! Do they have Superstore in the states, or is this one that we get to brag about for once?! The Joe Fresh collection is ALMOST as good as the clothes at Target, in my opinion, but they do have a lot larger selection and more clothes moving in at Target. Well, it’s a good start for us Canucks!

My most time-consuming Polyvore creation to date! My cousin is getting married this summer (they are an ADORABLE couple) and I am in search of the perfect dress as of right now. The above are my inspiration! I kinda want to break the no-white rule since a perfect white summer dress would be a lovely thing to have an excuse to buy, but I am not sure if that is still taboo or not! Well, I’ll probably get drawn to a colourful one anyway. Oh, and like my mannequin?! I thought she looked a little lonesome headless, and then I even added an arm (erm…ignore the difference in skin tone *cough*) holding an apple! Summery, amirite?! Polyvore, I think I love you…

PS. Yes, I do realize that I could just wear the dress I’m waiting for in the mail from eBay. But…ummm…DRESS SHOPPING!

Well, besides being sick, stuffed up, and playing Grand Theft Auto IV, I’ve done pretty much nothing over the past three days. I did, however, try out an oil treatment for skin that the lovely Kezia of the Coveted posted about. And it was lovely!! My skin is nice and soft now, and the hot washcloth on my face was also pretty nice for my clogged nose (ew, I know). Anyways, I just wanted to recommend it to you guys since I have no daily outfits to post!

No outfit post because I’m sick again today, but at least I won a really cute vintage dress on eBay!! I’d been stalking it for like a week and luckily the price didn’t get scarily high. And the shipping is reasonable, for once, to Canada!

I loooove it, and for once, my boyfriend actually approves! This is going to be my summer dress. :) And it will match my eBayed bag too!
