provident style

I slept in today (oops!) and missed the whole morning, so I didn’t get to wear this for very long, and the belt STILL managed to somehow disintegrate! It was one of those ones made out of some sort of cardboard composite and it got so bad that I just gave up and tossed it. I guess I’m on the hunt for a new belt again!

And remember how I lost my wallet? Well, I was walking to the bus stop with my boyfriend, and we found all of my old bus passes with my name and phone number written on the back scattered all over the ground. :( So I don’t think I’m going to see it again! But luckily, I didn’t have anything in it that was worth anything or not easily replaced, so I’m thankful for that. I guess I need to find a new belt AND a new wallet now!

I never used to be the girl who was obsessed with shoes, especially since they’re one of the items most notorious for being produced using terribly paid and treated labour, but…

…Damn you, Polyvore!! You make it so hard to resist, although I am not quite sure if I could afford any of these shoes anyways. I know that these aren’t all the most summery shoes ever, but I’ve been dying to have a pair of heeled brogues for so long that I would wear them even if my feet fell off from the heat!

It was nice out again today, so I wore my lovely yellow skirt. With BARE LEGS!!! I came dangerously close to flashing everyone a few times what with the wind, but it was worth it. :D

He’s a ridiculous cat in the first place (he’s terrified of our tiny little female cat who could totally kick his ass) but he’s even more funny when he’s a little bit hopped up on anesthetic! His pupils are HUGE and it took me forever to get a shot where he wasn’t darting around the room.

It was so beautiful outside today and I totally should have worn a skirt or shorts like the rest of my school, but the one night I forget to check the weather is of course the night before the nice day! Luckily tomorrow will be warm too.

This is so old! Like, before the wearing random company’s logo’s was cool old. I like it a lot but it probably won’t get much wear until winter!

It’s brightly patterned. It’s frayed at the bottom. It’s got pads in the shoulders. And it’s MINE! If I ever get the nerve up to wear this, you will most certainly hear about it!

The first question is, of course, one that requires thinking, and since I’ve just come home from school I’m going to skip it for now. 5 things found in my bag: I’ll use my backpack for this since it’s the bag I carry the most. Besides all my binders and textbooks, I always have a Moleskine and pen (the Moleskine love is still going strong, if you’ve been reading my blog since I posted about them!), planner (because I am really forgetful), art supplies, and Blistex lip medex for my super dry lips.

5 things found in my purse: Mints that I bought in Oklahoma, coupons (what, you haven’t realized I’m cheap yet!?), money (if I have it), bus pass, and usually lenses for my camera if I’m bringing it.

5 favourite things in my room: My wall covered in polaroids and photobooth pictures, my laptop, my art supplies, my camera, and my guitars.

5 things I’ve always wanted to do: Write/draw all over one of my walls, TRAVEL (New York and all over Europe, please!), be a good singer (hey, I can dream!), go overseas to help someone in need, and become an artist for a living!

5 things I’m currently into: My boyfriend and his silliness, art and photography (but I’m always into this!), skirts and dresses, WARM WEATHER, and learning to drive.

Today is my test photoshoot, and oh my goodness, I am nervous. I’m…how should I put it…insanely awkward! So I hope I figure out how to pose pretty quickly, haha. Oh, and please excuse my obvious bedhead…I’m not allowed to put anything in my hair, as it had to be clean and dry, and I would have had to get up at 6 this morning for it to be dry in time so I washed it last night. :P

Sooo tonight was my school’s art gala. AND THEY GAVE ME A $100 SCHOLARSHIP!!! I was the only grade 10 to get one and I was SO happy. I’m probably going to put it towards a new lens or some really nice chalk pastels or something. I’m just so surprised that they picked me out of all the amazing kids in my class!

Are you amazed yet?! The five extra minutes it takes to snap an outfit photo might not seem like a lot to all you organized, early risers out there, but it’s pretty impressive for me.

Tomorrow is my school’s art gala! The dancers are performing first, then we do a nice little art show (in the cafeteria, of course…) and then the drama students are performing a song from High School Musical. One of my best friends is in drama and she is constantly threatening suicide because of how unprepared they are to perform as everyone hates practicing HSM, so it should be quite an amusing show!

…NAIL POLISH! I think my allowance this week might go towards some cheaper versions of colours like these from OPI.

Russian Navy, Malaysian Mist, and Midnight in Moscow

I love these colours! Especially the neutral in the middle, for some reason. All I can find is my best friend’s sparkly light pink nail polish she forgot here, and I want a nice matte colour. Is matte the right term for it? Erm…well, a solid colour. Shiny but not sparkly!
