Today was a beautiful day to walk around my neighborhood and hit up a couple thrift stores. I took my brother along for advice and to see if we could find him anything. He got a couple button-up shirts, which I may steal in the future! I found a ton of great stuff. First off, these shoes:

I am IN LOVE! They should be too small as they are 8.5’s, but they’re only a teensy bit tight. They’re super comfy because they’re dance shoes, and they have a heel of about an inch. Going to wear these allll summer. These were $4.

Wet hair! These are a couple blouses I found to wear tucked into shorts. (Or pencil skirts, if I get a job I’m applying for…) The first is my favourite because of the awesome detail on the front. It’s also very light and airy, so I’m not going to boil in it when it’s hot out! The collar detail on the second is quite interesting, and it’s got shoulder pads. These were $2 each. The cute little old lady at the counter liked them! :)

Accessories. The gold necklaces look great together. One of them has a pendant that looks like a really old Spanish coin attached to it! The scarf is GIANT, and it’s going to be fun to figure out how to wear it.

Thank you dearly, thrift faeries. :D

Finally leaving the house! Yay! And I finally found some opaque black tights, once I realized that my mom had a drawer FULL of them (she’s tall too). I’d been trying to find some that fit me for so long! Well, at least I FINALLY realized that my mom had some because now I can wear them. :P

My scarf’s not crooked in real life! I fixed it!

Scarf: Thrifted
Tank: Target
Belt: Mom’s
Skirt: DIY
Tights: Mom’s
Ridiculous shoes that I will probably regret wearing but I love them anyways: Aldo

Off to party it up! AKA go out for dinner, then go for a girly sleepover. Haha.

It seems like all of my best friends either have birthdays in the spring or fall, so this will be the first of many spring birthday outfit posts! Me and 4 of my friends all went to Earl’s for dinner last night and cleaned them out, then went home for a giant sleepover and four amazing movies. We finally crashed at five and now I don’t look as lovely as I did last night!

T-shirt: Target
Necklace: Mom’s
Belt: Thrifted
Skirt: DIY
Shoes: Grandma’s

I am seriously loving this warm weather. I’m going to go clean myself up and put on some SHORTS!

I was listening to Joni Mitchell when figuring out my outfit for today…can you tell? :P

T-shirt: Target
Necklace: My mom’s from when she was in university (whoa!)
Skirt (dress): My friend’s grandma’s hand-me-down
Vest: American Apparel
Shoes: Doc Marten

I also got some new flats today while out on a mission to buy sneakers for running. This makes me feel slightly guilty, since I was set on getting New Balance runners as some of their selection is still made in the USA…and these flats are not. :( But when you’ve got a buy one, get $20 off another pair coupon burning a hole in your pocket and you find some adorable flats, principals can be hard to stick to. I guess I balance it out by buying so much second hand, but I still don’t like supporting sweatshops!

They’re just so comfy and perfect for summer… well, I guess I’m gonna have to get over it this time and at least be happy that I try to avoid slave labor as much as possible otherwise. >_<

new (well, new to me) skirt

It was nice out again today, so I wore my lovely yellow skirt. With BARE LEGS!!! I came dangerously close to flashing everyone a few times what with the wind, but it was worth it. :D

Shirt: Target
Scarf: Ten Thousand Villages
Skirt: Hand-me-down
Shoes: Grandma’s :P

And, just for kicks, here are some pictures of my newly shaved cat, Floyd. He’s a ridiculous cat in the first place (he’s terrified of our tiny little female cat who could totally kick his ass) but he’s even more funny when he’s a little bit hopped up on anesthetic! His pupils are HUGE and it took me forever to get a shot where he wasn’t darting around the room.

Look at his cute little rolls of skin!! AWWWEEE!!

GOOO FLLLOOOYYYDD!!

Him:

Me:

Me:

Him:
Probably got pushed back to Narnia, from the looks of your closet :P

hahaha, this is funny because it is true…maybe my closet needs a cleanout, eh? ;)

Such a cool music video. Oh, and I figured out something more interesting to wear tomorrow! Not exactly breakthrough, but I did remember the glory of the in-between of jeans and tights, leggings. How could I forget?!
